Jenna Fischer is best known for playing Pam Beesly on the acclaimed TV show The Office, for which she received the Emmy nomination for the Best Supporting Actress and Two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by An Ensemble Comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, however, she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna's mom Anne used to perform in church plays in her younger years which sparked an enthusiasm for theatre.
Fischer is an actress who has theater training. In Off-Broadway's play Reasons to Be Happy written by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was the lead. In Steve Martin's new production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office actor and friend Angela Kinsey began the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since gained immense popularity, settling on the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads in its first two years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She's also the author of The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her journey to St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming a working actress is outlined.
