April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July, started taking lessons on piano and guitar at seven years old. The passion for creating songs was sparked. The first song she wrote was called Different. She wrote it at the age of 12. The singer spent much of her the time of 14 composing songs and experimenting with the piano. Soon after she began taking excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY as well as LA. April added other themes to the song "Take My Hand" to help her the friends she had who struggled with concerns like peer pressure issues, or even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart also has an ever-growing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned clean beauty company Ilia. The truth is that she was born without a left hand. This creates her unique. But this isn't the only thing about her. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't conceal her handicap, but it doesn't just focus on it. What's the message? It's this That we all carry multiple identities and are way more diverse than we think we are. I do not want this to be the only thing that defines me. I don't intend to become an influencer where that's all I discuss because there are many different things about my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her house in Nashville. Lockhart admits to having been through a few phases regarding her appearance, feeling insecure at times to wear outfits that showcased her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she likes and uploads photos on her Facebook page with pride. Self-love, she says, is like a journey. "I don't think you'll ever get there," she said. This is true for everyone regardless of levels of anxiety. People you associate yourself with that truly understand you, and can see inside your soul are the most important people to help you remember what you're worrying about.
